Free from the frenetic pace of the popular tourist areas, the Eden Valley in Cumbria has much to offer the discerning visitor. Appleby-in-Westmorland (only 3 miles away), once a border stronghold, is now a pretty, leisurely little town with an indoor swimming pool, 18-hole golf course, bowling green and several small attractive shops and pubs.
Visit traditional farming villages, or enjoy a trip on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway. Wild Rose Holiday Park is the ideal base for exploring the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, both only a short drive away.
Relax, unwind and enjoy unrivalled views across the valley to the great ridges of the Pennines as they dip down to the gently flowing river.
Wild Rose Holiday Park is open all year. In the summer, it is a haven for flowers - primrose, cowslip and orchid, with violets in the hedgerows which blossom with cascades of wild roses. During winter, snow can be seen on the high fells and sparkling frost in the trees.
Wildlife is actively encouraged onto the park so do not be surprised if some unusual visitors join you for breakfast. Look out for red squirrels, sparrow hawks, spotted woodpeckers, buzzards, hedgehogs and rabbits. Take a walk along our quiet country lanes and if you're lucky you may see wild deer, badgers and foxes.
Caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome. Grass and hard standing pitches are available, some fully serviced with their own electric, water and TV hook up points. As you would expect from a top-quality 5-star park, all our facilities are maintained to an exceptionally high standard.
Wild Rose is the only holiday park in Cumbria to offer you the opportunity to stay in a Wigwam! Wigwams offer a unique chance to camp in style. Practical and diverse, the Wigwam is serviced with electricity and offers heating, a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and TV - all you need to bring is your sleeping bag.
Wild Rose provides an ideal base for touring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, the historic border city of Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall.

Park Reviews
Add A ReviewWe visited Wildrose for the kids holiday week in early June. The Site is well located 3 miles from Appleby a lovely town. The site is large but poorly maintained. The Toilets were not suffient for both the caravans and the large tent field, nor were they cleaned regularly. The site also seemed to allow large groups of young people to book into the site. The bar and restaurant however are good and cater or families.

July 2009 great site. plenty of very helpfull and pleasant staff. This site is well kept and very clean. The site had a free BBQ on one afternoon for the whole site, which i thought was a really nice touch and rounded our stay off.. No complaints at all one of the best sites i have visited.... Have just returned from a wonderful and relaxing short break at Wild Rose (July 08). This is a picturesque and well-serviced park that has good-sized pitches and excellent facilities including take-away, laundrette and well stocked shop. All the staff were helpful and friendly, there are plenty of activities for children indoors and out. They also have an excellent area for dogs to be let off the lead – ours had brilliant time. Only down side was the pool area - we felt should have been manned as some kids and adults ignored the poolside rules, which could be dangerous for them and others.

Wild Rose is an immaculate family run park. It was nice to see members of the family maintaining the park. Perfect for our young children as there was plenty to keep them occupied. A great location for days out in the lakes. We will most certainly be returning during '06!
