Waveney Valley Lakes
Leicester, Norfolk
Waveney Valley Lakes is a stunning, 60-acre site offering a collection of luxurious holiday homes and lodges for families seeking a permanent home from home in the heart of Norfolk. Most of the properties at Waveney Valley Lakes offer a riverside location, while all of them offer a view of the lake and the surrounding area.
The park is committed to keeping the surrounding area as unspoiled as possible, and has won the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award every year since 2002.
The site is close to the village of Wortwell, which has plenty of local amenities for guests to stock up on their groceries and other essentials.

Family pets are allowed, with up to two dogs permitted per holiday caravan or lodge, as long as they are kept on leads at all times when on the holiday park site.
There is a six acre meadow adjacent to the site specially designated for dogs to enjoy a good run or walk with their owners.

Waveney Valley Lakes is popular with keen anglers, and although the site is open to non-owners to visit for a day of fishing, those staying at the site will be given priority. There is also a nature trail running for 2.5km through the park, and the park's reception even provides a fun quiz to enjoy while walking it! An additional 10 miles of country trails are easily accessible from Waveney Valley Lakes, and offer a wonderful sightseeing experience for guests young and old.

High speed Wi-Fi is offered to guests at a small extra cost.

As well as being a thriving fishery, Waveney Valley Lakes keeps free range hens on-site. The lakes were first created in the 1940s when materials were dug out to build allied airfields during WWII. Later the lakes were stocked with carp, tench and bream, and the holiday park followed in the 1960s. Lakes always attract wildlife, and in this area you may spot kingfishers, herons, ducks, coots, grebes, owls, red shank and snipe, sparrow hawks, honey buzzards, the red footed falcon, firecrest and at least two species of bats.Â

The park is perfectly situated to allow families to enjoy the beauty of East Anglia, no matter what they wish to do. A short drive to the east takes guests to the coast, where they will find miles of Heritage Coastline, as well as popular and thriving seaside resorts such as Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. There are many other towns and villages found along the Norfolk coast, with many offering amusements, fairground rides, and much more, while on some beaches tourists can even buy fresh seafood as it is brought in from the sea.

Following the road west gives guests the options of visiting Bury St Edmunds, a beautiful market town where it is easy to spend the day, or Thetford, another market town but a location perhaps more popular for its famous forest, which offers miles of walking and cycling routes as well as a selection of other activities for families.

The park is roughly equidistant between Norwich, to the north, and Ipswich, to the south, and both locations have plenty to offer, with museums and galleries as well as modern shops, bars, and restaurants.

Waveney Valley Lakes is a hugely popular place to buy holiday lodges and holiday caravans in East Anglia and it is a great place to escape to and spend a quiet break. It is a great choice for fishing holidays, birdwatching, cycling and walking in East Anglia.
