Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park

Ventnor, Isle of Wight

Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park is one of many campsites in Hampshire and is located in the south east corner of the Isle of Wight. And it is surely one of the best campsites in Hampshire and indeed one of the best campsites on the Isle of Wight, as it made it into the Top 100 Sites Guide 2014, compiled by Caravan Sitefinder in association with Practical Motorhome and Practical Caravan magazines. Situated in the valley between Stenbury and St Martin's Downs, this holiday park falls in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This campsite's 14-acre site has 136 pitches and welcomes caravans, motorhomes and tents - 37 of the pitches are hardstanding. Pitches with electric hook-up are available and water points are shared between pitches. The season is open between March and November, with a small increase in price for high season. Holiday cottages and static caravans are also found at Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park. A shop is open on site at Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park and covers most basic needs and general camping equipment, too. In high season, this campsite even bakes its own bread, croissants and pastries, sure to make breakfasts at Appuldurcombe even more pleasurable and memorable. Spacious shower and toilet facilities are also offered in the campsite and by the pool. The swimming pool itself is heated and sheltered, and there is a smaller pool for toddlers. At peak times in the holiday season, this caravan and camping site also runs scuba lessons in the pool. The pool is overlooked by a games and entertainment room for older children and by a bar, in which adults can unwind with a drink. As stated earlier, also available for rent are static caravans or holiday apartments for those who don't want to bring their own camping kit. Dogs are permitted on this campsite, but must be kept on a lead in the main areas and owners must clean up after them. For those travelling from the UK's mainland, this campsite offers packages that include ferry transportation in the cost of your holiday. This surely makes it one of the best campsites for peace of mind and ease of travel, in addition to the cost saving this could represent. So, what else is at this campsite on the Isle of Wight? There's a football pitch for ball games and a crazy golf course, too. Bird watchers and horse riders are also well served by local attractions. In addition, there are a great many walking routes and cycle paths close to this campsite, so there are lots of things to do in the local area. Want more? Nearby, helicopter trips can be arranged for aerial sightseeing, boats and bikes are available to rent, and pony trekking is also available. Golfers are catered for as are swimmers and surfers, and those seeking a fishing holiday will be well served by the choice of coarse and sea fishing locations. If you're coming for a caravan holiday, camping adventure or motorhome tour on the Isle of Wight and seeking a quieter, more relaxing experience, there's so much countryside to discover here. Or you could visit one of the many local beaches. Or take in some of the local history with a trip to Osborne House, Quarr Abbey or Calbourne Mill. Visitors may also want to see the Needles, a natural chalk formation at the western end of the island. People who have stayed at Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park were impressed with the calmness of the location and atmosphere, and praised the provision of entertainment making for easy holidays where children didn't get bored. Other guests remarked that pitches were like gardens making for an even more pleasurable camping holiday experience.

Crowhurst Park

Battle, East Sussex

Your own five star holiday home in 1066 country In the heart of the East Sussex countryside, yet just five miles from the coast, lies Crowhurst Park, a 16th century country house surrounded by parkland with views across open countryside to the sea. The Simmons family first opened the park in 1973. Since that time we have made constant improvements and have always been committed to the highest levels of service. We have twice been voted South East England Tourist Board Holiday Park of the Year, and we have been awarded five stars by the England Tourism Council, with four stars for our self-catering accommodation. The 120 acre Crowhurst Park Estate is approached along a half mile private drive lined with Rhododendron, Pine and Beech. The park provides a home to badgers, pheasants and countless wildlife; and we have gained recognition of our environmental awareness through the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award. It is into this setting that we have built a number of Pinelodges. These feature two or three bedrooms, lounge, dining area, kitchen and bathroom. Each enjoys carefully chosen furnishings and is double glazed and centrally heated for year round comfort. (Pine is a natural insulator so you will find our lodges are cool in summer and warm in winter). Parking is provided close to each lodge. Facilities within the park include a magnificent pool and leisure complex, all weather tennis court, a children's adventure play area - and the local village cricket pitch! In the Grade II listed manor house itself are bars, coffee shop, dining room, games room, lounge and ballroom. Within easy reach of Crowhurst Park are all the recreational activities you could wish for. We are situated in the heart of 1066 Country - the birthplace of modern England: just two miles away is the very battlefield where William the Conqueror defeated King Harold at the Battle of Hastings.
