Discover the Moors National Park Centre in Danby on the banks of the River Esk, which is a 45-minute drive from Cote Ghyll. Visit Forbidden Corner, a four-acre garden of tunnels and secret places or the World of James Herriott Museum in Thirsk.

Explore 'Heartbeat Country', the historic city of Ripon and the 'Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales' with its amazing landscapes, fine cathedral and historic architecture. You might also like the Big Sheep and Little Cow Farm at Bedale and the Wensleydale Railway, which you can hop on at Leeming Bar Station in Northallerton for the most relaxing way to see the Yorkshire Dales. Richmond is a town of Georgian architecture with a fine cobbled marketplace, a Norman castle, museums and shops.

A little further afield lies the historic city of York with its medieval cathedral, Jorvik Centre and National Railway Museum. Cyclists will love this park as it's situated on route 65 of the National Cycle Network and offers a vast array of cycle paths for all abilities from the doorstep.

Cote Ghyll is just a 10-minute walk into Osmotherley Village which has three pubs with restaurants, a local shop, a lovely tea room and a fish and chip shop.
