Turning from the busy duel carrageway of the A19 toward the time warp village of Osmotherley gives you the instant burst of relaxation, following the road to the village centre the caravan site is signposted to the left, watch out for cars parked and the bollards on the footpath to stop cars from parking. The road goes up out of the village and you fork right signposted to the site and YHA, this tree lined road takes you down a small incline over 3 speed bumps before you turn right into the site. Instantly you catch a glimpse of the site set out on 4 different but flat levels. Stopping at the office you will be greeted by the site owners Johnathon and Helen who will show you to your pitch. The tranquil peace of the site hits you, on the site are statics, seasonals, tourers and tents with electric hook ups. The amenity blocks are new and include dish washing, laundry with large tumble dryer, bathroom, disabled toilet, visitor information and elsan point, the blocks are always inpecably clean with both the owners and wardens checking and cleaning them. On the site is a childrens play area complete with slides and swings. The Cod Beck runs through the middle of the site which is also a play ground for the children. From the site are several very good walks with wildlife never very far away, I have seen roe deer often. Anyone wishing to dine out a stroll to the village offers 3 pubs with different menus to suit all tastes or the village chippie for something down to earth. The experience of Cote Ghyll and the peace and relaxation leaves everyone wanting more. But please note you will need to book has nearly always busy.

Guest Book Reviews

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Cote Ghyll Camping Park with our Motorhome. What a find! A beautifully quiet and relaxing site with great walks available to those who wanted them. The reservoir is well worth the visit and although the first section is a bit of a climb the rest is easy walking. We found all the staff both friendly and welcoming. The facilities were all excellent and very clean. We will be returning.
