Park Reviews
Add A ReviewWe have just come back after a three day break as pushed by the Sun Newspaper. You one of those holiday for a tenner type deals. The actual cost adding in a few extras and a date change came to around £120 mind you. The good points. I can't fault the staff from reception to security all were as good as anyone could reasonably hope for. The not so good points. The site itself is beyond hilly and those at the bottom of the hill would probably need ropes and crampons to get to the top in one piece. We had two little ones and a double buggy to push about and got quite a sweat worked up getting from A to B. The site does not have much to do if you want to stay within the camp. the only free things that the kids can do is play on the slides and swings by the patio bar (it is a nice set up mind you) and that is about it. You are even supposed to have a pass to use the swimming pool although we were never asked to show it. The swimming pool itself was fine when we wwnt warm water attentive staff and a small area for the little ones. The bad pooints. The caravan we had was very tired and not well cleaned. Hairs on the pillows cobwebs on the ceiling and frayed carpet. Our cooker also lacked an ignition switch and as we had no lighter on us we had to be creative in how we lit the cooker rings. We also ran out of propane gas on the last night and security had to come and bring us a new bottle. As the nights were cold this could have been a real problem. Al and all I would not say we had bad value though for what we paid for the weekend. It would be a different story if we paid the full retail holiday price though. Patio Bar great. Good value for money. Staff friendly and helpful. Accommodation - not cleaned to a high standard in fact, very poorly cleaned. We did complain to the Manager but havenot heard anything back. Torquay Holiday Park, Torquay, Devon.
