The Six Mile Water Caravan Park lies on the tranquil and scenic shores of Lough Neagh and is the perfect stop-over point for visitors to Northern Ireland.

The park is open everyday from the start of March until the end of October, and weekends only during the months of February and November. The site is one of the most popular touring holiday parks in Northern Ireland, and is an ideal base for exploring not only the Borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey but all of Northern Ireland.

The park accommodates guests with touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, with 37 hardstanding electric hook-up pitches for caravans and motorhomes, and eight grass pitches for tents.

Additional facilities offered at Six Mile Water Caravan Park to ensure guests enjoy a comfortable stay include heated toilet and shower blocks, free showers, laundry room, dishwashing area, and baby change and disabled facilities.

The reception area at the park includes visitor and tourist information, ideal for guests planning to explore. The campsite also has a TV lounge, a games room, and an on-site café serving refreshments throughout the day – great if the weather isn't too nice. A takeaway option is offered for guests looking to eat back at their accommodation.

Things to do in Antrim

Guests that are looking to enjoy the beautiful outdoors will find numerous trails perfect for walking and cycling, with routes that are fully within Lough Shore Park and others that head out into the countryside beyond. The most popular is the Lough Shore Trail, a 128-mile route that goes around the whole of Lough Neagh.

You can be in the centre of Antrim in less than 5 minutes (by car) or walk along the scenic river path less in less than 30 minutes. Enjoy a walk around the historic Antrim Castle Gardens or go to the Antrim Round Tower, or perhaps you'd like to play a round of golf at Allen Park.

Maybe you would like to visit Belfast? In about 30 or 40 minutes by car you could be there, discovering the delights of this historic and vibrant city. The other side of Belfast is Bangor, which you can reach from Six Mile Water Caravan Park within an hour. Plus the seaport of Larne is under an hour's drive from this site, while Ballymena is less than a half hour drive away.

With a choice of indoor and outdoor facilities there is something for everyone at the Antrim Forum Leisure Complex. The indoor leisure opportunities include 2 multi-use Sports Halls, Fitness and Health Suites and 2 Swimming Pools. Outdoor facilities include Athletics Stadium, Synthetic Pitch, Bowling Green, Grass Pitches, and Children's Adventure Playground.

These impressive 17th century Antrim Castle Gardens are one of the earliest of their kind remaining in the British Isles. The site contains many exceptional features including an ancient motte, a spectacular and unique parterre, long canal, round pond and paths through the demesne, as well as remnants of Antrim Castle.

Built in the 1840s as a coach house and stables for Antrim Castle, the Clotworthy Arts Centre buildings were restored providing galleries, performance spaces, workshops and meeting rooms.

The 18-hole Allen Park Golf Course covers an area of approximately 143 acres, stretching over 6683 yards with a SSS and Par 72. There is a clubhouse providing modern locker room facilities, pool table and golf shop. The facility also incorporates a 20 bay fully floodlit golf driving range. Clubs and trolleys are available for hire.

The Loughshore Trail forms a continuous 128 mile cycle route around the shores of Lough Neagh and along Lough Beg, taking in 25 major sites of interest along the way including Antrim's Lough Shore Park, marinas,nature reserves and local sites of archaeological and historical interest. The Trail has been designed to suit experienced cycling enthusiasts as well as family groups or individuals, of all ages and abilities. The Trail is clearly signposted with blue cycle way signs that display the LST logo and Route 94.

One mile from Antrim town centre. Follow signposting for Antrim Forum/Lough Shore Park. On the Dublin Road take the turn off for the Lough Road, passing Antrim Forum on the right hand side. The Six Mile Water Caravan Park is situated at the end of the Lough Road.

We have a great time at the six mile park. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good paths for walking or cycling and the leisure centre is close which has an excellent restaurant. Very safe and enjoyable. Can't wait to return next year.

this is a great park lots to do and see but staff are very unhelpfull and tend to be very narkey all the time thay make you feel unconfortable other caravan users told me thay felt the same and where not made to feel welcome its a shame because its probably the nicest site up north other than that theres lots to do i hope this dosent put you off going maybe thay will learn to be nice

An excellent caravan park situated right at the edge of Lough Neagh. If, like me, you are concious about your caravan's security then this caravan park will put you at ease. Entry to the park is only gained by using a swipe card which you get when you arrive (£10 refundable deposit for same). The park is situated near a public car park but this gets closed off at dusk to keep out any boy racers etc. offering you a peaceful nights sleep. The facilities are excellent. Toilets very clean and there is a good games room with pool table to keep the young ones amused. Again, access to these rooms is gained by using the swipe card. As I said, the park is situated close to Lough Neagh and you have several walks right on your doorstep. You can go for a dander through Reas Wood or head down towards Antrim Castle / Clotworthy Arts Centre. Lots of green space about and excellent for the dogs. All in all a small, clean, friendly, secure site. There are 20 pitches though I believe the site is being expanded at the minute. Six Mile Water Caravan Park, County Antrim, Northern Ireland

This was our first time away in our new caravan an i really enjoyed it...there was loads of flies but they didnt annoy me at all, im sure they're not there all yr round...we only stayed 1 night at beginning of May to learn the ropes but i wod have stayed a 2nd if it i didnt have to work next day...even though there were kids it was still a very peaceful, relaxing night Six Mile Water Caravan Park

What a peaceful and relaxing stay we had on the site from the 12th - 18th May with 5 tents and motorbikes. Everyone was so friendly and all the staff so cheery and helpful we didn't want leave. We're all looking to our next visit. Top marks to the site and staff. Six Mile Water Caravan Park
