Park Reviews
Add A Reviewwhat a lovely site, great views over the Irish sea and a nice wee walk down the cliffs to Portpatrick. It is a wee bit of a trek to the toilet block but it was spotless as you need a key to access it. The site owners are putting a lot of effort into this site and it shows. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back as it's such a lovely part of the country to visit.

We toured around Scotland for 4 weeks in August and were highly recommended to visit here- what an utter disappointment! The site was full of litter with overflowing garbage bins and the so called luxury toilet block- urgh what a ghastly place full of old diapers and someone washing their dog in the shower block. And speaking of dogs- the site is full of them and their "mess" too- we even seen a pile of poop beside a notice stating owners had to pick up their dog mess! Port Patrick- yeah its "quaint" but the locals are very unfriendly and Saturday evenings are just one long drinking session and so much profanity and crude language- typically what the Brits now do best! Avoid at all cost unless you want a dirty disorganised holiday experience- there are far better sites further along the coast- unspoilt gems if you take the time to seek out as we did after leaving early!

We first visited this park as campers back in 2005 and we liked it. Despite it,s primative amenities. We have just made the return trip with our touring caravan and were pleasantly surprised.Under new ownership the toilet and shower block has been fully refurbished into a modern state of thew art facility. The park is well laid out with a fine mixture of statics, tourers and tents dotted around the place. My only complaint is if you are pitched on the site just above Dunsky Castle,as we were, then you have long walk down to the toilets. There is certainly scope for the owners to build a small shower/toilet block in this area of the site. However we were well placed for the clifftop stroll down into Portpatrick which is an absolute gem. With its friendly pubs and resturants. The way back requires a little more energy than the way there. However our dog Molly did,nt seem to mind.Other places to visit would be The Mull of Galloway Lighthouse .Famed for it,s breathtaking views and it,s delicious ice cream.Port Logan is also worth the ten mile drive where, on a good day ,it,s nice to sit outside the Inn sipping a beer whilst taking in the beautiful sweeping bay. This definitely one of Scotland,s most scenic and laid back holiday spots.I will definitly return and would have no hesitation in chosing Galloway Point to hitch up.
