Park Description

Dalraddy Holiday Park is a quiet family campsite near Aviemore, set in 25 acres of Scottish birch woodland. Beyond the quiet beauty of the location, this campsite can offer you a host of exciting action-packed holiday activities, thanks to the links between the Alvie and Dalraddy Estates. This unique holiday park boasts views of the mighty Cairngorm Mountains, and you can walk to the River Spey from the site. Tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans are all welcome and the site can offer electric hook-ups for those who want to use them. 50 of the pitches are for tents of all shapes and sizes. Dogs are welcome.

The holiday park has its own licensed shop, selling beer, wine and spirits as well as essential groceries and ice creams. There is also a children's play park. The showers, washbasins and toilets have been upgraded recently and you'll also find laundry and washing up areas. If you enjoy watching TV during your caravan holidays, it's recommended that you take a portable satellite dish, since the trees hamper TV reception.
Adrenaline-fuelled activities on offer here include Quad Bike Tours, a Zip Wire Park, canoeing, sailing, skiing, golf, gliding, rock climbing, mountain biking, paintballing and clay pigeon shooting. Other activities include bushcraft survival courses, archery, gorge walking, cooking demonstrations and expeditions involving deer feeding and photography, at suitable times of the year to suit the animals.

However the site is also perfect for chilling out, enjoying scenery, and appreciating nature.

Dalraddy is near Kincraig, Aviemore and Kingussie. It's in an ideal spot to use as your base camp for rugged mountaineering and hillwalking holidays in the Scottish Highlands. Equally it makes a comfortable holiday park for relaxing holidays exploring this mountainous region by car or motorhome. As well as long holidays, short breaks are available. Dogs are welcome to accompany you on holiday here.

If you decide to make the Cairngorms your regular retreat, make sure you check out the beautiful luxury chalets or static caravans, however it is rare that these should come up for sale.

Self-catering flats and cottages for hire are also available at Dalraddy Holiday Park's twin, Alvie Estate. You can even get married, hold shooting and fishing parties, business meetings and family parties at Alvie House, which is a mid-19th century Edwardian shooting lodge.

A fab, peaceful, well maintained, dog friendly site sympathetically set amongst mature woodland with great views of the mountains. The showers were excellent - your own private space with lockable door (although could do with a shower curtain between the dressing & shower area to reduce splashing.but water and pressure nice and hot. The staff are great - friendly and helpful. The shop is well stocked including a library of DVDs and books to borrow or exchange. Downside - there's no internet unless you're in the shop (so we played cards and talked - not a bad thing to have to do ! ). Great walks nearby (for dogs & their humans) and not too far from Avimore (if you've got a car). We were in a motorhome but campers with tents are well catered for with hook up and fire-pits & really nice setting to pitch your tent. Definitely recommend this site to anyone with caravan, campervan or tent (& think they rent out lodges too).

Welcome good, cleanliness, great. Toilets immaculate. Tent area - why is this up on the exposed hill? Our friends, who had borrowed our tent slept in the car as the tent got ripped by the storms. Tourers stuck on tight pitches inbetween trees. We had our dog who was never left alone at any time. Yes, he barked, which we controlled. Suddenly got a visit from a warden telling us that complaints had been given to her. This was the first time we had been spoken to and were told that if there was another complaint, we would be asked to leave. Nice approach - NOT!! It was a strange site in that nobody spoke to anyone else, even the kids playing in the park were silent. Parallel universe? Now, we wouldn't welcome a barking dog ourselves, but we did control him. Seems that we were on a site where tolerance and civility was left at the gate.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base for skiing at Cairngorm. Excellent site, warm facilities including indoor washing up area which is a godsend when its -10C outside! Well laid out site with planty of room on the pitches and reasonable distance between pitches as well. Nice little shop with the sort of things you forget. Great staff, very helpful.
