Park Description

Northern Ireland's north coast is a wonderful place to take a tour, and the multiple award-winning Ballyness Caravan Park is a gem of a campsite and makes a great base for anyone wanting to explore this spectacular part of the Emerald isle.

Nestled in the beautiful countryside of North Antrim, it is ideally placed for exploring all the sights within easy reach, including the incredible Giant's Causeway and the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge – a 'must' for photographers and daredevils, spanning a 20m-wide, 23m deep chasm, with the wild sea crashing on rocks below. Several beaches in the area have blue flag status and you will be just spoiled for choice when it comes to selecting your water sport activities.

Whiskey connoisseurs will recognise the name Bushmills instantly, and the good news is that you can visit the world famous distillery, which is close to the park. In fact, the ponds on the campsite are fed by the same stream that is used to make Bushmills Malt Whiskey.

There are three separate sections to the touring area, one close to the ponds and two nearer the children's play park. You'll be able to spot ducks, swans, herons and kingfishers enjoying the ponds while you're on holiday here.

The caravan park has 50 touring pitches in total; these pitches are well spaced, so the site never feels crowded. Every touring pitch is hardstanding and has its own electricity, water and waste hook-up point. A motorhome service point is also available.

There are no hire caravans here, but Ballyness Caravan Park does have 91 hardstandings available for privately owned holiday caravans kept permanently on-site. These pitches have enough space for barbecues and offer lovely views over the countryside. The park can supply you with a brand new static caravan to place on one of these pitches, giving you the choice of well-known brands such as Pemberton Leisure Homes, Swift Holiday Homes, Willerby Holiday Homes and ABI Holiday Homes.

There's plenty at Ballyness Caravan Park to keep the entire family entertained, including a games barn with pool, table tennis tables and board games, a library, a play park and football field. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

The immaculate centrally heated amenitiy building has free hot showers, toilets, family bathroom, disabled shower room, laundry and dishwashing area. There's a small shop supplying milk and caravan accessories on the park.

Ballyness is just half a mile from the village of Bushmills, with its shops, cafés and restaurants. The Causeway Rambler Bus stops at the park from April to September.

This park, which is an NCC approved park and a member of Premier Parks 2022, holds many awards include Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome's Top 100 Sites Award 2021, AA Pennant Gold Award, the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award and NITB 5 star rating.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Ballyness and that you had a great walk into Bushmills. Looking forward to seeing you again. Olive

Really enjoyed Ballyness. Already have it booked again for next year. Clean and very tidy. Plenty to do and see in Bushmills with its excellent Salmon river . 5 star with us. Plenty of nearby shops and the Flash in the Pan chippy is a real treat

Park response (9th November 2015)

Thank you for your lovely review. We are very glad you enjoyed your holiday at Ballyness and that Bushmills village had everything you need as well.

Have just had a fantastic stay at Ballyness Caravan Park. The site is beautifully kept with spacious fully serviced pitches. The toilet block is immaculate, massive showers, underfloor heating. Internet access is available next to the dishwash and laundry rooms. There is a children's play area. The only fault that I could find with the site is that the pitches are very open and you need your windbreak to ensure that you have some privacy when stepping out of your van. There is a shop on site which sells milk, a few groceries, some camping equipment etc. You have a 3 minute cycle ride (or 10 minute walk) to the nearest Spar shop. The walk into Bushmills is about 15 minutes downhill. The site is about 3 miles from Giants Causeway and there is a cycle track which takes you from Bushmills along by the railway line, through the sand dunes, and across a golf course to the Causeway. This park is great, first class for touring carvans, no other park in area is as good. Facilities good - heated floors in showers, very clean and tidy, plenty room around caravans, however need to book well in advance - no shop on site. As has been said in other reviews, this site is something else, staff grounds and location first class.only problem is that you need to book a long time in advance to get a pitch. If only other sites would look at this one, we would all be happier campers. Well done

Site for our maiden trip last year and boy were we happy we started caravanning ! The only problem with this site is you just can't get booked in !! It's that popular and really is a first class site. Ideally located for travelling around the North Coast and exceptionally clean and beautifully presented. No hesitation in recommending....you won't be disappointed unless like us you struggle to get booked back in again !!!

Beautiful peaceful site just outside Bushmills. Immaculate facilities and very helpful staff. Kids had a ball - playpark and football field; wildlife ponds with ducks & ducklings and nesting swans at time of visit (Easter). Not far from Bushmills distillery and town where there are lots of shops, pubs etc. Great base for exploring the spectacular Causeway coast.

Top class caravan park. Been a couple of times and will definitely return. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great facilities- so clean and quiet. Has its own mini woodland walk with ponds & swans with cygnets when we were there! Within walking distance of Bushmills. Only a short drive to great garden centre with coffee shop: 'Creative Gardens'
