Church Farm Caravan & Camping Park

Church Farm Campsite is a quiet, family owned campsite run by proprietor Steve Judd, his partner Lee Moneypenny and from 2009, his eldest daughter Louisa Judd. We are situated in a village called Sixpenny Handley, which is in the heart of the Cranborne Chase. We are the gateway to the Chase and West Wiltshire Downs, an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". The site is on an arable farm, surrounded by glorious countryside. We extend a friendly welcome to Caravans, Motorhomes, Tents and Trailer Tents alike. The site is located within 300m of the Village High Street. There are a variety of shops, including General Stores/Newsagents, Butchers, Post Office, Gift Shop and also a Public House.

Alderbury Caravan and Camping Park

Alderbury Caravan and Camping Park is a small, popular and friendly, family run campsite in the pretty village of Whaddon, three miles from the historic city of Salisbury. The site is pleasantly landscaped and contained along a tree- and mature hedge-lined avenue that provides both sun and shade; grass pitches run either side of a gravel access track. It is also an award winning campsite, with a three-pennant rating from the AA, plus it featured in the Top 100 Sites Guide compiled by Caravan Sitefinder, Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome in 2011 and 2012. In addition, it is a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club. Alderbury Caravan and Camping Park welcomes visitors in touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. With just 39 pitches in total, the park feels intimate and yet provides sufficient space for everyone to enjoy some privacy. Hook-ups are available to 24 of the pitches, bottled LPG is on sale and seasonal pitches are an option, too. An amenity block, including a small laundry room, is also on site, kept immaculately clean by the friendly staff, who try to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. For guests keen to have online access, Wi-Fi is available. If you're going to Wiltshire for your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays, you will find that there are lots of things to do. Attractions within nearby Salisbury are noteworthy, such as the famous Salisbury Cathedral (of particular note for 2015, as the impressive structure, with the tallest spire in England, celebrates the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta - with the best preserved copy displayed there). A tour of the tower is a must for spectacular views across the city and the surrounding countryside, while a picnic in Cathedral Close provides an impressive impromptu eating spot. Salisbury Racecourse offers the chance for a flutter between May and October each year, while the sumptuous Wilton House nearby allows a cultural insight into the 17th century, with a world famous art collection and 22 acres of parkland and gardens for the kids to let off steam. There's a regular bus service between Whaddon and Salisbury throughout the week. Alderbury Caravan and Camping Park is also ideal for visiting Stonehenge, with its new visitor centre, which is just 15 minutes away. Other ancient attractions include Old Sarum, a mighty Iron-Age hill fort owned by English Heritage and a distinguishing landmark on the northern outskirts of Salisbury. Just five miles south of this caravan park is the New Forest National Park. Here you can visit attractions such as the National Motor Museum and the House and Gardens at Beaulieu with enough entertainment to last more than one day. Or head to Paulton's Family Theme Park, perfect for keeping little ones amused, especially if they're fans of the cartoon character Peppa Pig, as Paulton's is the home of Peppa Pig World. For whole day excursions from Alderbury Caravan and Camping Park, why not take a day trip to the Isle of Wight, accessed by ferry from Lymington? The short hop across The Solent will give you great views of one of England's busiest stretches of water and the island's attractive northern coastline. Closer to 'home', you'll find The Three Crowns, directly opposite the caravan park. The historic pub offers an excellent meal and you'll be following in esteemed company - King John plus the kings of France and Scotland have supped a pint there, albeit some 800 years ago! Local village shops for essential groceries are also close by.
