Park Description

Branscombe Campsite and Airfield is a small, family run campsite in Devon that's open all year round.

It sits in a quiet location close to the famous Jurassic Coast. The park sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is popular with guests owing to it being one of the few campsites in this region that offers views directly out to sea. It's a pretty, peaceful place for your camping holidays in Devon.

Bring your own caravan, motorhome or tent, or stay in the site's own static caravan. Branscombe Campsite and Airfield is a family and dog friendly holiday destination, with a children’s play area and also its own dog run area and plenty of open spaces available for the children to run around in. Electric hook-ups are available for most of the pitches, while a Laundrette and toilet block are also found on-site.

This is one of the best places in Devon for a relaxing break, with access to easy walking routes down to the coast as well as along the famous South West Coast Path, a National Trail and one of the UK's top rated walks.

Boats head out to sea regularly from the beaches at Branscombe Mouth, and guests pitched at the site can go out on a fishing trip to pick up a tasty catch for their supper. Fancy putting a little less effort into your eating? The two local pubs are both beautiful and are regularly featured in the trusted Good Pub Guide. The nearest, The Fountain Head, is just a 10-minute walk from this campsite and serves great local ales as well as providing a menu of traditional, homemade food. The Masons Arms is a little further away but provides a super place for the whole family to go, again serving local food and ales. The building itself dates back to the mid 14th century – it's worth visiting for the building alone.

Branscombe itself is just a ten-minute drive from this campsite. Here you'll discover several National Trust run places, including a working forge and a restored mill. Or enjoy a cream tea at the Old Bakery, or how about a wander along the beach or discover new creatures in a rock pool.

It will take you under an hour to drive from Branscombe Campsite and Airfield to Exeter, a beautiful cathedral and university city. Whether you're looking for a day out, a meal out, you need to top up your holiday supplies or maybe you need to tire the kids out at a leisure complex, the city will make a change from the campsite's rural setting on your camping and caravan holidays.

The coastal town of Sidmouth is much nearer, just a 15- or 20-minute drive from this campsite. Grab a bite to eat, head to the beach, go surfing, enjoy time meandering through the Sidmouth Arboretum or visit the Norman Lockyer Observatory on Salcombe Hill Road
