Croft Farm Holiday Park

Croft Farm Holiday Park is an amazing location for a family holiday, found in the heart of Cornwall just one mile from the iconic Eden Project attraction. The park offers a number of pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes, as well as having static holiday homes and holiday cottages available for hire. Holiday homes for sale are also sometimes available on this lovely park. So if you fall in love with this part of Cornwall, you could consider buying a permanently sited holiday home as a family investment and regular retreat. When new developments of holiday homes are planned, guests can often choose a specific area or pitch they would like theirs to be situated. The season for touring guests and those staying in holiday cottages runs from late March to late the following January. Static holiday homes are available for hire from late March until early November. All of the touring caravan and motorhome pitches are hard standing, with a grassed area reserved exclusively for tents. Electric hook ups are available, and annual seasonal pitches are available. Caravan storage is also available at a very competitive price during the eight weeks that the park is closed during each year. Facilities available at Croft Farm Holiday Park include an amenities block with showers and dish washing. Table tennis and a pool table is able to be enjoyed free of charge at the park. The park is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with miles of stunning landscape able to be explored on foot. Nearby, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are both amazing attractions and should be considered 'must visit' by guests during their stay at the park. The nearest major town, St Austell, has something for everyone with shops as well as some quirky cafés and restaurants that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Closer to the coast, the villages of Charlestown and Mevagissey are exceptional places to spend a day. Although both small locations it is easy to lose track of time and spend hours looking around or chatting in one of the many small shops or cafés. These villages also provide a gateway to some of Cornwall's best beaches, with those on the southern coast of the county known for their relative calm and quiet nature in comparison to the thriving surfing resorts on the north coast. The beaches there are ideal for swimming and paddling, with the seas themselves calm, warm, and welcoming. Those just looking to explore the region can pick up the South West Coastal Path from various towns and villages on the seafront, and walk as far as their legs will take them. Guests preferring to stay inland will find a number of amazing National Trust properties across Cornwall, with the Lanhydrock House and Gardens found close by and providing a fun day out for the whole family. At the end of a long day, there are plenty of places nearby to pick up something to eat and drink, with the local public house, The Kings Arms, particularly popular with guests. Croft Farm Holiday Park is an amazing place for family tent, motorhome and caravan holidays near St Austell in South Cornwall.

Mena Farm

Unplug, relax and unwind at our spacious, quiet, secluded campsite. Bring your doggies, go wild camping, go on adventures, look for badgers, rabbits, deer and buzzards, go star-gazing, visit the pigs, help collect eggs from the chickens, build a den, enjoy the sunsets, go fishing for tiddlers with the kids... Mena Farm is a magical place - you won't be disappointed. We're overlooked by Helman Tor, a Neolithic hill fort and one of the highest points on Bodmin Moor, in the heart of the beautiful Cornish countryside, and halfway between the North and South coasts. We're also very conveniently located - just 1 mile from the A30, and have around 15 acres to explore, including woodlands and a large pond. We have a range of accommodation on offer - choose between self-catering holidays in the old farmhouse, our beautiful glamping cabins, Dotty the vintage caravan, or our fabulous bell tents. We're a perfect spot for campers and tourers, with great walking and cycling trails directly from the site. We're at the mid-point of the Saints Way, between Padstow and Fowey, and minutes away from the Camel Trail, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House, the Eden Project and Cardinham Woods. Lanivet village is just over a mile away with a fantastic pub and a 5-gold starred Fish and Chip Cafe, and during the Summer months, we have a range of visiting pop-up food and drink stalls. There is no clubhouse here, just a barn with games, books and TV for those rainy days, and there are no bright lights - you'll definitely need to bring a torch with you. You'll find everything you need to enjoy your holiday, whatever you type of accommodation you choose. We offer a free delivery of fish and chips, for those evenings when you just want to relax, and we have a small shop on site, free hot showers, free wifi, electric hookups & hard-standings, children's play area and the games barn.

However, this campsite doesn't only accommodate, caravans, motorhomes and tents. If you are looking for holiday cottages in Cornwall, Eden Valley can help, as it also has holiday lodges to buy and rent. In addition, it hasn't just won prizes for conservation. Eden Valley Holiday Park features in the Top 100 Sites Guide 2017 compiled by Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome magazines. The 56 pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents are spread across several small paddocks.

But that doesn't mean there is nothing to do. The small town of Lostwithiel is just over the hill from the park and it centres around St Bartholomew's Church which has stood in the town for nearly 900 years. Also nearby is the Lanhydrock, where you can visit the stunning house and the large gardens, magnificent displays of rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias making it well worth a visit. Or you can walk through the woodland behind the gardens and maybe see an otter or a kingfisher.

Visited this lovely site in September, initially for 3 days, but because it was such a lovely park and in easy reach of all points south, east, and west,we extended twice and eventually stayed for 18 nights! Darren and the family were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The new shower block was ideal and exceptional with toilet, shower and handbasin in each cubicle. Unlike a previous reviewer we never encountered any queues although we were there when the site was fairly busy. The only small downside was having to hold your breath on negotiating the single track road in and out of the site, and pray you didn't meet any other traffic! All in all a brilliant site for exploring Cornwall - we loved it and will definitely return. John & Carole, Leicestershire

Park response (14th November 2011)

Thankyou for your lovely review! The new toilet block has been a hit with everyone this year!! Look forward to seeing you next year hopefully.

A very nicely laid out site. We were in Primrose field. The amenity block at the top of the site was adequate but not matched by the shiny new facility near the entrance. The large 'all in one cubicles' were very nice but did tend to create a log jam with queues, and the site was not full. The showers were difficult to get in and out of for a moderately obese person. Primrose field had a tendency to waterlog - we were in Cornwall - not good if like us you use a grass freiendly grounsheet in a caravan awning. The local town Lostwithiel more than adequate - pasties and cream teas to die for. We did some touring by train - Plymouth in one direction, and Penzance in the other with little branch lines too.

Firstly, smeister from Sumerset, are you sure your reviewing the same Eden Valley? I have never visited such a beautiful site. It is very well maintained, the facilities are spotless and of the highest standard. Ample space with power showers, toilet and sink in each cubicle (perfect for people needing alittle more space or if your trying to wash children). Games and TV room, laundrette, books and magazines to read, a lovely, clean dog walking area and a huge play park for children. The entire site is a joy to walk around. We only discovered this site at the end of last season and we've been back three times already. Ive been camping for 20 years and i have never come accross such a lovely site that has such friendly management, great facilities and value for money. I posted pictures of my last camping trip at Eden Valley on facebook and was inundated with comments asking where we were because it looked so beautiful, child and dog friendly. I would recommend Eden Valley to anyone who truly loves camping.

We have been motorcaravanners for a number of years and so our visit to Eden Valley to stay in one of their cabins was a new experience for us. And what a fantastic experience it was. A peaceful quiet site, not far from the coast (either north or south) the park is ideally located. On arrival we were greeted by Ginny and Carol, both of whom were very friendly and helpful, and we got the impression that nothing was too much trouble. The cabin we stayed in (Sunflower) was so homely and comfortable, it was with regret that we left at the end of our week long stay. All in all a fantastic holiday on a park we would highly recommend. We will certainly be going back again.

whitebeard02 - 26th May 2011

We found this site well maintained, the recepetion we recieved from Darren and Ginny was lovely as if we had known them for ever. The shower blocks were both great, heating first thing in the morning and evening, plenty of hot water and very very clean. Washing up was a pleasure to do, don't normally say that. Great area for dog walking. Will be visiting again.

fredknell - 16th January 2011

Situated in an ideal position for visiting the surrounding area and places of interest. Warm friendly reception from owners - nothing too much trouble. Well kept site with very good facilities. Beautiful accomodation. Very relaxing environment in peaceful setting. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future with our touring caravan. Recommended to friends and family with confidence that they will enjoy their stay as much as we did.

edenvalley - 18th May 2010

We've been camping and caravanning for 40 years and been to many sites. This used to be one of our favourites, a really beautiful place. Not any more. The grass in all the fields is very neglected, it used to be beutiful but now full of reed grass. One field is a building site and we were told they had been working on it for 2 years, it looked like the a builders yard and was far from finished. The layout of the park is good and they have now put in a new toilet block but it's a prefab static type block. Much of the ground is unusable and the drainage has not been maintained. If I hadn't have already paid, I would have left the first day. All I all, a great site, ruined by bad management. Eden Valley Holiday Park, Bodmin, Cornwall

Guest Book Reviews

AA Inspection Report 2009/10 Formerly known as Powderham Castle, Eden Valley Holiday Park occupies a mature parkland setting where the touring pitches are laid out in a series of grassy closes separated by high, mature and colourful hedging. This year the park has greatly enhanced its toilet facilities by the completion of an extremely handsome timber housing toilet block with high quality combined cubicles for both ladies and gents. The existing toilet toilet block with the adjacent laundry, dishwashing and food preparation rooms are also of a high standard with excellent light and cleanliness. The park’s leisure facilities in the form of an impressive play area, indoor games room, dog exercise paddock and 9-hole putting green display equal quality and high standards of presentation. I can confirm an upgrade to 4 Pennants with a quality % score of 78%.
