Park Reviews
Add A ReviewJust returned from a great holiday I met up with my daughter and grand children. We went the same time last year and it was very wet but it didn't put us off and this year the sunshine did not let us or the site down. It was great to see so many children enjoying the indoor and outdoor swimming pools and the nightly entertainment for the children where second to none. Before we left we have decided to come back next year. Well done to all staff involved in keeping a good site.

Stayed here for three nights with our 16mnt old little girl, theres no park facilities for toddlers to be honest the play park is very run down for price of stay. soft play area or padded cell more like was poor, would not recommend if you have younger children. Access to the park is clearly signposted but satnav’s tend to route vehicles along narrow lanes with sharp bends and passing places. This is fine for solo vehicles but not really appropriate for drivers of outfits who should head through Silloth. Not the nicest place or campsite! will not return

we stayed in the apartments and they were spotless, also they are right next to the complex, complex is greta, loads for you to do, kids club in the afternoon was brilliant, kids entertainment at night was fab and the kids loved getting certificates and meeting foxy fox, highly recommended

We stayed at the stanwix sister site at Hylton Park just down the road it was very good, toilet blocks lovely and clean. We got the use of Stanwix facilities with the card system, unfortunately my son lost his card we were charged £5 to replace it which i thought was a bit harsh considering there were 18 people in our company and we would well have spent enough to cover the price of the card. We complained to a number of front desk personnel who couldn’t resolve this minor issue. We waited to speak to the owner who was very rude to say the least. I wouldn’t go to this site again the customer service is appalling to say the least, they need to review the card entrance policy it isn’t very fair. I would visit Hylton Park again however I would not use the Stanwix park facilities

What can you say about this site thats not already been said, BRILL GREAT SUPER. having been touring for 30 years this is without a doubt the best I have been to. this park is a flag ship for all holiday parks and some of the so called large holiday companys should go and take a look to see what a touring park looks like. I have told my family and friends already , There is something for every one , plenty of entertainment for all ages, Swimming pool , suna, steam room , the list goes on and on. Tiolets /showers very cleam amd modern and my wife loved the idea of the baths as well, touring pitches are well kept and water /elec close at hand , The adult bar and entertainment were out of this world,I have been to many so called night spots that cant match this, Its imaculate and the drinks ars not expensive like some places, Ok so it doesnt have a dog walk but i can put up with that, dog and I need a bit of exercise so a walk down the road is no big deal. Again the staff were great and no trouble to go the extra mile to help the customer out. the shop is well stocked with all you need so we didnt have to go off to find anything. There is a little sea front town 10 minutes drive thats very pleasant and nice cafes and shops , a nice sea front to have a walk along. Again i would put this as number one in my top one hundred and as i have said we have been touring for a long long time. I would like to keep this park to my self because it would be full if any one with any sence wanted a first class site with all thrown in for a good priced hoilday, five star if there were higher grade they would get it. Very well done to the owners and staff and keep up the good work. I would like to make it very clear that i have never been to this park before and didnt know of it till our visit ,this was a last minute rush to find a park on our way back from Scotland, and boy what a find. Will be back with all the clan.x x x x x Stanwix Park Holiday Centre, Siloth, Cumbria

On arrival there is a car park at the front of the site but no suitable area set aside for touring units to wait while registering. Reception is clean and efficient, with an adjacent well stocked shop and a good selection of tourist information brochures. The swimming pool is very pleasant but the changing facilities are limited with only 5 or 6 cubicles and one large disabled persons toilet which was often used as a family changing room. The toilet blocks were clean, warm and spacious. The launderette was also clean and spacious with plenty of washing machines and driers. Our primary dissatisfaction was with, what in our opinion is, considerable overcrowding on the touring van / camping sites. Caravaners allocated pitches behind the front row were unable to get their vans onto or off their allocated pitches without asking people at the front to move their cars, windbreaks or guy ropes. We have a large twin axle van and had it not been for the motor mover then we would not have been able to reverse onto our pitch without asking the people opposite to move their car and possibly windbreak as well. Access to the park is clearly signposted but satnav’s tend to route vehicles along narrow lanes with sharp bends and passing places. This is fine for solo vehicles but not really appropriate for drivers of outfits who should head through Silloth. If you are looking for family orientated 'holiday camp' atmosphere with good facilities and entertainment but don't mind a crowded touring pitch then Stanwix is ideal. If you want space, quiet and a dog friendly site then this is not really for you. Stanwix Park Holiday Centre, Silloth, Cumbria

Spent 4 days at this park in the middle of September. The place is very clean and the amenities are excellent. All pitches have their own electric/water/drainage points. The toilet/shower block is clean and looks to have been upgraded recently (only problem here is there is no drinking water to clean teeth). This site has an outdoor swimming pool (closed at this time but looks as though it would be fun in the summer) and also a very good indoor pool (with jacuzzi/sauna/steam room). The Sunset Inn is a large bar on the ground floor of the main building which is used by familes as this is the only bar that children can go into. Foxy Fox seems to keep all the youngsters happy. On the upper floor there is the Dunes Bar which hosts live entertainment at night and is adults only. There is also another adults only lounge bar on the upper floor for a quiter time. Also there is a snooker room. On the ground floor there is the Garden Cafe which serves food until about 9pm (which is the only place where you can eat on the site), however the food is plentiful and reasonably priced. A well equipped gym is also on this floor. All this is under one roof and can only be accessed by the use of an access pass. This pass is included in the cost of your stay. A decent sized shop is also located in this building but no pass required to get into. This site is up there with the best of them. The only disappointment I had was that although I had to pay to have my Labrador with me, there was no dog walking area on the site. This had to be done out of the site on the main road. There is a chip shop just outside of the site (about 200 yards to the left) is open between 1600 and 2030 daily. Am already going back for a long weekend at the end of this month. Would recommend this site to families and couples alike. Stanwix Park Holiday Centre, Siloth, Cumbria

this park was very well equipt, clean and well laid out.. All pitches had their own water connections and drainage points, pitches also well spaced out giving plenty of room for an awning.. Campers kitchen a nice touch for those in tents. Shower block clean my only problem was no cold water in toilet/shower blocks to clean teeth. Other wise a nice place to visit I will be going again some time soon
