Compton Farm

Compton Farm is a charming caravan and camping park near a beautiful sandy beach on the Isle of Wight's sunny south coast. The park is split into two separate areas, with one field comprising 12 permanently situated statics, which are available for hire, and another for tourists staying at Compton Farm in their own tents. All of the static caravans for hire are well-equipped, with showers, toilets, modern cooker and fridge freezer all provided. There is plenty to do at Compton Farm for the whole family. A large section of the main field is left empty and is always accessible for ball games and other activities, while there is even the opportunity to help out on the farm for those interested, collecting up eggs and getting involved with other aspects of farm life. Enough space is provided so guests can enjoy kite flying or bike riding around the site, too, while old tractors have also been left on the site for children (and adults) to play around on (take your camera)! Compton Farm dates back to the 11th century and is on National Trust Land. It's in such a great location that it offers tremendous views out across the valley in one direction, and down to Compton Bay in the other. The beach there is clean and safe, perfect for beach activities and sports as well as getting into the water and enjoying a spot of paddling with the children or swimming. Those interested in dinosaurs and fossils can often view footprints and fossils that have yet to be excavated, mostly visible at low tides, too. Anyone looking to enjoy adrenaline fuelled adventures will find plenty on offer at nearby beaches, with everything from surfing to wakeboarding and jet skiing available. Hang gliding and paragliding are also available if you want to take to the air and soar like a bird. Companies offering these activities include Butterfly Paragliding at Chale, Isle of Wight Adventure Activities at Freshwater, Windstalker Island Kite Sports at Seaview and Vectis Gliding Club at Bembridge. For keen golfers there is a stunning links golf course nearby. Freshwater Bay Golf Club is a wonderful location for enjoying a round of golf as well as taking in the view of the surrounding area. Compton Farm is just off the Military Road, which is handy for travelling along the south coast of the island. The nearest major town is Newport, which has everything you could possibly need, while you're away from the countryside or the beach. Newport has excellent shopping and an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants. If you're a bit of a culture lover, head for Newport's museum and theatre. Animal lovers who enjoy spending time on a farm should visit the Amazon World Zoo Park. Llwyngwair Manor is set in 55 acres of grass and woodland. Newport and the coastal footpath is less than one mile away. Open from early March to late October, this campsite in Wales welcomes touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, as well as offering a selection of holiday homes for hire.

Electric hook-ups are available, with all pitches grass and either flat or gently sloping. Most of the pitches at Fishguard Bay Caravan & Camping Park give terrific views out to sea. Facilities on site include a laundrette, heated shower and toilet blocks, and a dishwashing area. There is also an on-site shop and a children’s play area, ensuring guests can always stock up on essentials and allow little ones to run off any remaining energy reserves at the end of a day exploring the coast or the wonderful Welsh countryside. There's also a games room with a pool table and other activities – always handy as you never know what the weather is going to do.
