Park Description

Heathfield Farm Camping Site is a four-star rated retreat in the town of Freshwater, on the western point of the Isle of Wight. The park is open from late April to September, and offers 75 touring pitches for campers bringing along their own caravan, motorhome or tent.

The park is the proud owner of a Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award, and the efforts it puts into maintaining the surrounding natural environment are clear when you visit the site, with beautiful gardens and unspoiled countryside everywhere you look. This commitment to conservation helps attract a wide variety of wildlife to the park, and nature lovers will find themselves with much to discover during a stay at Heathfield Camping.

This park offers awe-inspiring views of the surrounding countryside, as well as across the Solent and English Channel in various directions. There is a playing field that is separated from the pitching site, ideal for families to indulge in games, while it also houses a barbecue area for guests to use. There is a separate wild flower meadow, which is great for dog walking.

Other park features include:

  • Excellent modern shower facilities
  • Disabled/family shower room
  • Spacious marked pitches
  • Freezer packs service; camping Gaz available
  • Pet exercise area around wild flower meadow
  • Information board with local walks
  • Separate playing field with BBQ area and picnic tables
  • Bus stop outside park entrance

Outside of the park you have quick and easy access to a number of excellent activities, including fishing, swimming, and horse riding, while there are miles of trails perfect for walking or exploring via bicycle.

Half of the Isle of Wight is considered an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while much of the coastline is labelled as Heritage Coast, meaning there is much for you to see in your immediate surroundings.

Other towns that are popular on the Isle of Wight include Newport and Sandown, while the ferry to the English mainland from Cowes gives you instant access to the south coast of England, including the South Downs National Park.

Whether you're bringing a motorhome, touring caravan or tent, you'll discover why Heathfield is the natural choice for all those seeking beautiful unspoilt countryside.

Half of the Island is designated as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and much of the seashore is designated as a Heritage Coast. The Island has 67 miles of the most wonderful and varied coastline, offering chalk and sandstone cliffs, rocky coves and sandy beaches.

A short walk leads to the gently shelving sandy beach of Colwell and the adjoining bay of Totland. Whilst these beaches will appeal to those interested in building sandcastles and exploring rock pools, the beaches of Compton and Brook are ideal for surfing, fossil hunting and dinosaur enthusiasts.

The Island offers a host of fantastic days out for all the family, never more than a short walk or drive away. Visit vineyards, manor houses, castles, adventures parks, museums, craft centres, and a working steam railway.

It is easy to understand why so many people return time and time again. The unspoilt countryside, the milder climate, and the slower pace of life, makes this area the ideal location if you are seeking a relaxed 'away from it all' type of holiday.
