Tan Y Fron Holiday Park

Dolgellau, Gwynedd

Tan-y-fron Holiday Park is located in the centre of the idyllic Snowdonia National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty with CaderIdris, Wales' second highest mountain after Snowdon itself, in the background. This small and welcoming family run park is open throughout the year, and has a range of modern facilities that will guarantee your comfort whenever you decide to visit. A range of touring pitches are available in addition to a small number of holiday homes that can be purchased by holidaymakers who grow to love the area and wish to make this a permanent holiday retreat for themselves and their families. Tan-y-fron is the perfect base for exploring the nearby town of Dolgellau and for touring the whole of Snowdonia National Park. However, we understand that following woodland trails by foot, horseback, or bicycle is not something that appeals to everyone. It is therefore lucky that the park enjoys excellent transport links that will enable you to discover much of the beauty of Wales away from Snowdonia. A short drive west will bring you to the coast, where you will find an array of small seaside towns and villages, as well as hidden beaches and coves where you can sit and relax in front of the usually calm and tranquil sea. Alternatively, you might look to head into the centre of Wales, where friendly local communities and businesses, from bakers and butchers to public houses and restaurants, are just waiting to be discovered. Tan-y-fron is the perfect park to visit if you are looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of a busy life in a large town or city. The park and the surrounding areas could not be more different, and as such are a must visit for anyone looking to do nothing but relax.

The site is cozily small, with just 22 touring pitches spanning a two-acre field. We cater to everyone: caravans, campervans, motorhomes and tents. All pitches are level and well maintained, each one comes standard with a 16A electric hook-up and a boosted terrestial TV signal. We offer everything from grass pitches to fully serviced hardstanding. Our hardstanding pitches also include a water point. The field is divided into 3 regions one of which is adults only. We also offer self-catering static caravans, and several glamping options. We have aimed to design the site to be comfortable for our guests — for campers for example, there is space to park your car alongside your tent. The site owners have tried to create a peaceful atmosphere, as such, ball games are not permitted in the field containing the pitches. There is however, a separate, grassy area nearby that is suitable for ball games. Views of both the sea and mountains are available with our premium pitches and self-catering Park Home static caravans. For those with a taste for glamping, we have several 'Hobbit' pods all of which are warm and dry owing to the fact that they are insulated. The Hobbits each measure 16' by 8' giving your plenty of room to camp in style. Each one is kitted out with electric lighting and heating, extra power sockets and lockable doors. Why not enjoy your meals sitting around the included picnic table? You can use all the facilities on the campsite but you will need to provide your own bedding, towels and catering equipment for the pod itself. The Willows Abersoch (Yr Helyg) is very proud to offer the 'Eye-Pod', the only one of its kind in the world. The Eye-Pod is spherical glamping pod around 100 cubic feet larger than the campsite's Hobbits and a domed roof that gives a perfect view of the stars at night. The Eye-Pod even more luxurious than the Hobbits. The Eye-Pod comes's with all the luxury's of the Hobbits plus a TV and DVD player, Wi-Fi, a table and seating area, a small fridge, a kettle, a heater, hooks, a mattress, lights with dimmer switches, more storage space , and even has French doors for an inside-outside camping experience! Gate House Wood Touring Park benefits from a unique surrounding area, having been created from the site of an old quarry. The on-site park shop is well stocked and sells everything from crisps and snacks to freshly delivered meats from a local butcher, which guests can then use in one of the on-site brick barbecue pits. If you prefer not to cook every night of your camping and caravan holidays in Kent the good news is that you will find a Beefeater pub and restaurant close to the park. There is also a popular Chinese restaurant and other local pubs serving food close by. Guests staying at Gate House Wood Touring Park have the very best of the Kent countryside at their disposal.
