Golden Valley Camping & Caravan Park

Golden Valley Camping & Caravan Park is a stunning four-star family holiday park found in the heart of Derbyshire. The site is open all year, and welcomes guests with motorhomes, tents, and touring caravans, as well as offering a selection of log cabins for hire. Seasonal pitches are also available on per three months basis, although pitches can be booked for longer. Farditch Farm Caravan Site
Buxton, Derbyshire
This peaceful caravan site in Buxton, Derbyshire, is situated in the heart of the Peak District. The beauty of Farditch Farm site is that it is uncrowded with only 11 caravan pitches, surrounded by picturesque landscaping. Suitable for the discerning caravanner, this caravan site is perfect for couples or families wanting a quiet retreat in wonderful surroundings.
The complex effortlessly merges the traditional with contemporary in an unsurpassed setting; offering warmth, charm, space and a certain refined ambience that is truly on a par of its own. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times.
Barn Farm
Matlock, Derbyshire
Barn Farm with buildings dating back to 1500's, it's a traditional Derbyshire gritstone stock farm, in one of the prettiest villages in the Peak District. Overlooking the beautiful Derwent Valley, the farm is a haven for wildlife including badgers and rare Black Fallow deer. It boasts over 60 species of birds such as Nuthatch, Dippers and Peregrine Falcons.
Open from 1 April until 31 October, there are 25 camping pitches and 13 gravelled hardstanding touring pitches at Barn Farm Campsite which welcomes visitors staying in tents, caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and campervans. They also have further fields which they open on certain weekends throughout the season. All pitches for caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and campervans have the benefit of an electric hook-up. Remember your levelling blocks, though, as not all the pitches are flat.
Despite the back to nature feel of this small, pretty campsite, its facilities are far from back-to-basics. The clean and tidy washrooms have individual shower cubicles and there is a disabled persons shower room with baby changing facilities. There are also hairdryers and electric sockets in all of the showering facilities.A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in case you need to wash your clothes, there's a fridge and a freezer, there are a couple of places to wash your dishes, there's an on site shop and recycling is encouraged across the site.
As well as the natural world to explore, there's plenty to keep the kids busy here during your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays in Derbyshire. There is a wooden play area, suitable for children up to the age of 10, plus a games room, which has a TV, a pool table and arcade games. For older guests, there's even a sauna and a sunbed available to hire!
And that's not all, there are also camping barns available at Barn Farm Campsite, handy if you've pitched here in your motorhome or caravan and you're holidaying with family or friends who don't own their own touring vehicle. The camping barns can accommodate between two and 15 guests, and most of your essential cooking and eating equipment is provided. Bedding and towels are provided in some but not all of the camping barns, so it is wise to check prior to arrival. And 'camping' is really a misnomer, as these are quite smart holiday homes, neatly finished and well equipped.

Barn Farm Campsite is the perfect base for your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays in the Peak District, as it sits within the boundaries of the Peak District National Park. The small market town of Bakewell is only about a 15-minute drive from this site, Matlock also about 15 minutes away, meaning despite the 'rural retreat' feel of this campsite, you're never far from civilisation and the conveniences of towns with their shops, pubs and restaurants. Chatsworth House is also just a 15- or 20-minute drive from this campsite, Haddon Hall even closer.
Callow Top Holiday Park
Ashbourne, Derbyshire
Callow Top Holiday Park in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, accommodates caravans, motorhomes, tents, trailer tents and campervans, plus there are two oak-beamed holiday cottages on site.
An award winning holiday park in Derbyshire, it is well placed for exploring the Midlands, and Chatsworth House is nearby, too. It is also the perfect location for a self catering holiday in the Peak District, while those with families will no doubt appreciate the fact that Callow Top Holiday Park is only a 20-minute drive from Alton Towers.
But before you venture off-site, there is a lot to keep you entertained on-site at Callow Top. Adults will like the licenced supermarket, the pub and restaurant, the café/bar and the sun terrace, while younger visitors will love the games field, the amusement arcade, the heated swimming pool and the evening entertainment programme.
There is also a fishing lake, horseriding facilities, bicycle hire, Wi-Fi and dogs are welcomed, too. Facilities vary depending on the time of year and availability, but with this much on offer, you can see why it has won so many awards.
It is handy to know that Calor and Camping Gaz exchange is available on site, as is a freezer facility. In addition, visitors have the use of toilet blocks, showers, coin-operated hairdryers, sockets for hair styling equipment, shaver points, pot washing facilities, a fully equipped laundry room and a cash point. There are washrooms for disabled visitors, too. Recycling facilities, a motorhome waste disposal point and an Elsan disposal point are also on site.
Callow Top features some part serviced pitches that are all hardstanding and have a small grass area for your awning. For larger motorhomes, there are some bigger pitches available - be sure to ask the holiday park about this when you make your booking.
If you're camping, the tent pitches are around 9m x 9m, but if you have a tent that needs more room, ask when booking if there is space for it. Also, if you want space to pitch a tent next to a caravan, get in touch with the owners, as this can be accommodated, but these pitches are booked well in advance. Please note that pitches for tents do not have electric hook-ups.
Winter storage and seasonal pitches are also available at Callow Top Holiday Park.
The two on-site holiday cottages are Dovedale Cottage and Ashbourne Cottage. Centrally located on the park, the former can accommodate up to five people, the latter up to seven, and when staying in these holiday cottages, guests are welcome to use all the site's facilities. You'll need bring your own towels, but bed linen and tea towels are provided, cots and highchairs available upon request.
The holiday cottages don't have washing machines or dryers, but the holiday park's coin-operated laundry facilities can be used. Pets aren't allowed at the cottages.

Birchwood Farm Caravan Park

Birchwood Farm Caravan Park is situated near to the town of Matlock Bath, on the edge of the Peak District, a family owned and operated park that is one of the most welcoming caravan parks in Derbyshire.
The park is well positioned within an area of outstanding natural beauty, on hills overlooking the Derwent Valley that gives fantastic views from all parts of the site. If you are looking for a holiday in a relaxing location, and enjoy taking long walks through miles of endless countryside and woodland, then Birchwood Farm could well be the best holiday choice you could ever make. Alton Towers, for example, can be reached in under an hour of driving on the winding, picturesque roads that link the area.

Those who have stayed at this campsite have commended it for its thoughtful landscaping, the wonderful views, the tranquil yet child friendly atmosphere, and the clean, well-maintained facilities.
Open all year round, this campsite in Derbyshire welcomes caravans, trailer tents and motorhomes, but not tents. The 115 large touring pitches here are all hardstanding, to facilitate year round occupation, plus every pitch has a 16A electric hook-up. Despite the size of the pitches, the campsite never feels cramped. In addition, extra large pitches can be booked, too, with water, drainage and electric hook-up connections.
On site services at Lickpenny Touring Park include two heated washrooms with hairdryers, a child/parent bathroom and disabled facilities, as well as a laundry, a heated room for preparing food and washing up, a motorhome waste point, a recycling point, a children's play area, Wi-Fi and woodland walking paths. This is also a dog friendly campsite and there is a woodland dog walk area. Please remember to keep your dogs on a lead at all times. In addition, Calor Gas bottles can be exchanged at this campsite.
If you fancy visiting Matlock, you can leave your vehicle on site and catch a bus that stops near the park. Also within driving distance are the popular and historic attractions of Bolsover Castle, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House.
Set in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, the Peak District is within easy distance of Lickpenny Touring Park to the west, Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve a little further away, to the east of this site, while Darwin Forest Country Park is also nearby. Whether you like going on two-footed or two-wheeled adventures, there will be plenty to keep you busy in the Peak District, both in terms of guided tours or if you want to find your own way.

Greenhills Holiday Park

Greenhills Caravan & Camping Park is situated in the picturesque Derbyshire town of Bakewell. Ideally situated and surrounded by the the slopes of the lower Wye Valley. An excellent centre from which to explore the many places of interest to be found in the surrounding area. Set in 12 acres of beautiful countryside, surrounded by the slopes of the lovely Wye Valley, the Park can accommodate 70 touring units, all of which have 16 amp electrical hook up points, as well as 100 tent pitches on three separate camping fields.
The pitches at the top of the tourer field are level and carry uninterrupted views of the countryside, with shelter being provided by the mixed woodland along either side.
There are also two fields dedicated to privately owned caravan holiday homes.
The amenities on the park are modern and well-maintained.

Peak Gateway Caravan Park
Ashbourne, Derbyshire
Since 2005, improvement works have continued at Peak Gateway Leisure Club to create a family Caravan and Camping site. The location of the site is ideal for access to the Peak National Park with its beautiful scenery and unspoilt country walks. Access to Ashbourne town centre shopping is also easy from the site either by road or foot path, known as Bonnie Prince Charlies Way, which runs through the middle of the site.
The facilities provided at the site make it one of the best sites in the area and you will find most of these facilities in the main building housing the reception and bar. Various events take place at weekends and bank holidays throughout the year, details of which can be found in the Events section of the Web site.
