If you're spending your camping and caravan holidays in Norfolk, there's plenty to see and do. If you love walking, you'll be pleased to know that there are two walking trails heading off in opposite directions from the park itself. This campsite is on the edge of Swaffham and it will take less than five minutes to drive and only around 15 or 20 minutes to walk into the centre of this town from Breckland Meadows Touring Park. This historic market town is a lovely place to spend a day. While Saturday is market day in Swaffham, there are plenty of local businesses and a true community spirit that guests can partake in whenever they're in the town, and it's also worth just having a look around the place on foot.
Further afield there are plenty of places for tourists to discover, whether they want to spend time outdoors or in the towns and cities of East Anglia. Thetford Forest Park is nearby and is a wonderful location to explore, whether looking for a romantic stroll and somewhere to enjoy a picnic or for somewhere different to take the dog for a walk - or maybe both! Hire bikes and head off on two wheels, or enjoy spotting the local wildlife. There is also a handy visitor centre, or you could take a segway ride.
Oxburgh Hall is one of the area's main historic attractions, while you could get lost for hours in the beautifully landscaped gardens - all this within 20 minutes of Breckland Meadows Touring Park. Or head to Cockley Cley, a small village found only about a 10-minute drive from this campsite, where there is a stunning 7th century church as well as a country pub famed in the area for its top class food and ales.
Guests preferring to head somewhere larger should make a point of spending the day in Norwich - it's less than an hour from this campsite by car, along the A47. A historic city with a wide range of museums and art galleries, along with leisure and entertainment attractions, mean it has something for everyone. The combination of cobbled streets and modern developments make it a fun, diverse place to spend time. There's a vibrant market to visit, as well as the castle and cathedral.
If you'd like a day beside the seaside, if you've pitched at Breckland Meadows Touring Park, visit Great Yarmouth, which is a little over an hour away by car, or how about Lowestoft, about a 90-minute drive from this campsite. At just half an hour away, King's Lynn is within easy reach, too, or go seal spotting in Wells-next-the-Sea, a 40-minute drive away.
Visit Norfolk on your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays, and if you use Breckland Meadows Touring Park as your base, you'll be able to explore the whole area with ease - and all year round.

Clippesby Hall
Clippesby, Norfolk
One of many campsites in Norfolk, Clippesby Hall is a great place from which to explore the Norfolk Broads and the lovely Norfolk countryside and coast.
In fact, this open-all-year park is an award winner, as it features in the Top 100 Sites Guide 2014, compiled by Caravan Sitefinder in collaboration with Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome magazines. And it has become a regular in this guide, visitors consistently rating it as one of the best campsites in Norfolk. It has also won AA awards, a five-star award from the tourist board and gold awards for conservation from David Bellamy and the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Clippesby Hall welcomes tents, caravans and motorhomes to stay at its 120 pitches. These pitches are split across eight distinctive areas including open grassy areas, more secluded woodland settings and an orchard-style area. Electric hook-ups are available depending on which section of the site you choose to stay in, along with drainage for chemical toilets.
Prices for pitches include access to the campsite's toilet and wash room facilities. These are clean and modern blocks with central heating and free unlimited hot water - the site also offers a family bathroom for those with younger children.
In the autumn and winter months, the owners of Clippesby Hall recommend that people look at staying on the campsite's serviced pitches at the Old Orchard. The ground has good drainage and therefore does not become muddy, and the area is close to the centrally heated toilet block. Pitches for this time can be bought for a reduced price and are available with electric hook-up for an additional charge - great for cheaper, off-season camping, motorhome or caravan holidays!
Looking for holiday cottages in Norfolk? Then you won't be disappointed. There are also a range of self catering holiday cottages at Clippesby Hall. There are one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom holiday lodges - bed linen, Wi-Fi and access to the site's swimming and tennis facilities are included, dogs are extra.
Clippesby Hall plays host to Susie's Coffee Shop which serves breakfast to guests. Freshly baked bread and pastries, lunches, snacks and takeaway pizzas are available to order. Later in the day visitors may wish to take a look at The Muskett Arms pub and restaurant - this on site building offers locally produced ales and ciders as well as food, made with local ingredients wherever possible. Family entertainment is offered in the evenings and in the autumn, the pub plays host to the Beer in the Broads beer festival.
But that's not all. This campsite in Norfolk features a number of activities to please all members of the family. Most prominent is the outdoor swimming pool, which is heated using environmentally friendly solar power. Open from May to September, the pool can be used free of charge by guests, depending on the weather. Surrounded by an attractive, grassy seating area, children can run off their excess energy whilst the adults relax in the calm atmosphere.
There's also an 18-hole mini golf course that the whole family can enjoy for a small charge. In addition, there are two tennis courts that are free for guests to use if they have their own equipment - racquets and balls can be rented from reception. Again, these are open from May until September. Or how about archery lessons? The fee includes all the kit you need, plus tuition.
There are surely few campsites in Norfolk with such great facilities for those on camping, motorhome or caravan holidays, because also at Clippesby Hall, for younger members of the family, there is an extensive play area featuring zip wires, a cargo net, monkey bars, a fireman's pole and a climbing wall. A little beyond the play area is the tree house which is ideal for impromptu picnics or for unwinding. Closer to the main pitches is a larger play area featuring a sandpit, swings and a climbing frame. This area also serves as a place to play ball games such as football, cricket or rounders, plus the campsite has a cycle hire centre and its own on site cycle trail.
Guests that stayed at Clippesby Hall have praised the site for its size and amenities, and that despite its size it manages to maintain the relaxed atmosphere of a smaller campsite. They were also impressed by the range of activities that were offered making for a relaxing holiday with children.

There are plenty of things to do on-site, with a number of great attractions that will keep the whole family - but especially the children - entertained. The children's play area is always popular, while the park's trampolines and miniature railway are always favourites with the younger generations, too. There is also a large boating lake where kayaks, canoes, and rowing boats can be hired. If you have your own boat, make sure you talk to someone at the park reception desk before heading to Pinewoods, as you may be able to bring your boat on holiday and set off out to sea, though they aren't allowed on the campsite's lake.
If you enjoy cycling holidays in Norfolk, it's worth knowing that the area around Pinewoods Holiday Park is famous for offering some of the most picturesque cycling routes in the area. As well as being close to a number of routes on the National Cycle Network, Pinewoods also offers easy access to a number of additional trails and popular cycling journeys. Bike hire is available from the campsite, either by the day or by the week. Of course you are always free to bring your own bicycles if you're planning to explore Norfolk countryside on your own two wheels.

Both of these famously beautiful areas have plenty of spots for fishing and open spaces for sitting down and enjoying a family picnic.
Although small, Wells-Next-the-Sea has a number of quaint shops and eateries, where guests can pick up almost anything they desire on holiday. Despite being a popular tourist village, Wells always has a slow pace even when very busy, and is definitely somewhere you can go when you want to feel that you truly have no cares in the world. We suggest you should head to the waterfront in Wells to enjoy freshly caught seafood as it comes in. While you're in this area, The Globe Inn and The Victoria Hotel are highly recommended.
Pinewoods Holiday Park is a wonderful base for all types of camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in Norfolk, being close to the best areas to explore while also offering plenty to do without travelling far from the park itself.
