Later the lakes were stocked with carp, tench and bream, and the holiday park followed in the 1960s. Lakes always attract wildlife, and in this area you may spot kingfishers, herons, ducks, coots, grebes, owls, red shank and snipe, sparrow hawks, honey buzzards, the red footed falcon, firecrest and at least two species of bats.

There are many other towns and villages found along the Norfolk coast, with many offering amusements, fairground rides, and much more, while on some beaches tourists can even buy fresh seafood as it is brought in from the sea.

The park is roughly equidistant between Norwich, to the north, and Ipswich, to the south, and both locations have plenty to offer, with museums and galleries as well as modern shops, bars, and restaurants.
