Park Description

Norden Farm is a family-run camping and touring site, set on a working farm just outside Corfe Castle, on the southern coast of beautiful Dorset - specifically the Isle of Purbeck. With easy transport links, friendly staff, and great facilities, this is the perfect place for a summer getaway.

Norden Farm is set back from the main road, but with easy access. It's a rural site and may not be suitable for those who look for ready-made entertainment! Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth are all within 30-40 minutes travel by road.

There are three adjacent, level grass fields which offer electric hook-ups, and an additional large grass field for tents and campervans in peak season.

In addition to camping, a traditional farm cottage is available for hire. This sleeps four and is located on the campsite, with its own private garden. Norden House is also available as a large self-catering holiday home to sleep up to 14 people.

This is a family site which welcomes dogs, but asks they are kept under control at all times.

The site is open from March until October, weather permitting.

Onsite facilities include flush toilets and chemical disposal points, hot showers and private wash basins, a family room, disabled toilets and a wet room (ambulant or aided only). There is a separate laundry and washing-up rooms, a well-stocked farm shop, and a pooch parlour (a wet room and warm shower for dogs).

For children, there is a play area and ball games court.

Most facilities are free for campers to use (laundry facilities excepted). Wi-Fi is available for a small fee and likewise a device charging service (including car batteries). A freezer block service is also available.

The Isle of Purbeck and surrounding areas are full of great places to explore!
Norden Farm is conveniently located for using public transport. With a bus stop at the campsite entrance, and a steam railway station a short walk away, getting out and about is no problem for campers here!

Just a short walk away is Corfe Castle, which boasts three pubs, a bakery, and of course, the old ruins of the castle. Take the footpath into the village which runs straight from the campsite!

Further in that direction is the coastal town of Swanage. Here, you will find a multitude of shops, pubs, a nightclub and a white sand beach.

If heading the other way, you will reach the ancient town of Wareham, popular for its quantity of pubs, the River Frome and the Rex Cinema. There is also a train station here, making access to London or Weymouth quick and easy. The Purbeck Sports Centre is also located here, fulfilling all of your sporting and leisure needs, including Sky HD and BT Sports HD live events in their All Stars bar.

For historians, the Isle of Purbeck flaunts Tyneham Village, The Etches Fossil Collection, Kingston Lacy, Swanage Heritage Railway, Hardy's Cottage and many more.

Geographers will be in awe of Kimmeridge Bay, the Arne Peninsula, Durdle Door, and other spectacular parts of the world's first natural heritage site, the Jurassic Coast. Those who like to keep fit will be spoilt for choice when it comes to hiking and cycle paths along the coastline, through woodlands and across heathland.

Families will love Studland Beach, Monkey World, Putlake Adventure Farm, Dorset Waterpark and Bovington Tank Museum.

We were looking for a site at short notice and we pleasantly surprised by Norden Farm. It is a working farm and so you do have to put up with a country smell, but that was part of the attraction. We had the cows walking past our caravan to be milked every morning over breakfast, and our children enjoyed seeing (and hearing!) the donkey. We also saw a group of wild deer in the farm fields on our way back through the woods from the excellent nearest attraction of Corfe Castle. The facilities are good, but flies are prevalent, although the block in the top field / pond field is much cleaner (further from the cow sheds!) The children's play area was great, right by the indoor washing area. Would we go back? Possibly.

I spent one day at Norden Farm last summer and have every intention of returning as soon as the weather permits. It is on a working farm but the camp site is away from the noise. The shower block was new last year with plenty of room, there are hookups. Corfe Castle is just a short distance away and Swanage not too far. There is a restaurant but note it is not open ever day and a useful shop on site.

This is a lovely campsite at the base of Corfe Castle which we use as a base for visiting RSPB Arne and the coast near Swanage. It has new heated facilities that are 2nd to none and because it's on a working farm provides added interest with all the animals around for kids if you have them. It has a decent farm shop sticking a lot of essentials too. The price asked is also incredibly fair for out of season camping. The perfect campsite!!

We use this campsite out of season and just wish it was open for longer in the year. Campsite shop excellent with both fresh and tinned food. You could certainly make a good meal if you arrived here without food. It's so lovely you can do exciting and wonderful walks direct from the campsite without needing a car to get to the start point. There is no onsite entertainment or club house and long may it continue to be so. Completely UN-necessary in this lovely part of the country,

Beautiful site with stunning scenery and surrounded by animals ! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . There are clearly marked walks to Corfe Castle only 3/4 mile away . Staff are very friendly and I have already recommended this place to others . Will definitely stay again .

We go to Swanage Blues Festival twice yearly and find that Norden Farm is the perfect site for this (only problem is that the site may not be open in early March due to inclement weather). It is fantastic value for money and a delightful site - we would highly recommend it. The animals and poultry etc are an added attraction and the shop is well stocked. There are some interesting items for sale in the garden shop. We especially enjoyed listening to the owls at night.

- 14 Sep 2018

We enjoyed the peace of the area and would have explored if the weather had not been very much against us. But it was October. We liked the grass pitches, it felt more like camping than being surrounded by lumps of concrete. The on site shop is excellent, the people in it knowledgeable and helpful. We are relatively local but would love to stay here again as it is very different from being in a town.
