In the 2014 edition of Caravan Sitefinder's Top 100 Sites Guide - which is compiled in association with leading industry magazines Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome - it made it into the top 10 for sites for camping, plus it was a regional finalist. In addition, the AA crowned it the best campsite in Wales in its Caravan and Camping Awards 2014.
How as the site earned this reputation? Its setting certainly helps. This fabulous location would put a smile on the grumpiest of faces. And with its top class facilities and friendly atmosphere, there are many reasons why so many families return every year.
Tyddyn Isaf Camping and Caravan Park is a great campsite for novice and experienced campers alike. The site's camping, touring and motorhome pitches are located on two main large fields that are surrounded by spectacular views of Lligwy beach and bay. The campsite's staff are on hand to help out and make sure you're at least 20 feet away from your neighbours when camping. And if you're in a caravan or motorhome, site staff will ensure you're level across the axis from front to back to guarantee your stay it as pleasurable as possible.
The campsite boasts that its facilities are second to none, including award winning toilet and shower blocks that are all a short distance away from wherever you're staying on the site. They're all fully heated with charming music playing in the background. In addition, you'll find underfloor heating, wet rooms, baby changing facilities and great access for guests with disabilities.
Other key camping facilities at this site include electric hook-up points, an ice block freezer to keep everything cool, a motorhome waste disposal point, recycling stations, secure entrance barriers, a refuse collection point and dishwashing areas. Never fear, the Terrace restaurant is on hand with a wide range of homemade food to suit all needs, and there is the option of eating in or taking it away to eat by your tent, caravan or motorhome.
The handy beach footpath means you're never further than a three-minute walk from the waves, so bring your swimsuits, towels and body boards. If a relaxing stroll is more on the cards, then there is a lovely woodland walk, the perfect spot for a dog walk perhaps?
The children's play area leaves space for families to play a variety of games and enjoy activities such as flying a kite and playing football without annoying fellow campers. There are also two climbing frames, two slides and three swings for the children to use.
