Kingsbridge Caravan and Camping Park
Isle of Anglesey, Gwynedd
A quiet, family-run campsite in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Kingsbridge Caravan and Camping Park's philosophy is to work with and to enhance and preserve its stunning natural setting.
It is therefore perhaps not too surprising to learn that this campsite on the Isle of Anglesey won the Best Green Site award when the Top 100 Sites Guide 2014 was compiled by Caravan Sitefinder, along with Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome magazines. The campsite has also won a Gold David Bellamy Award for Conservation and a Green Dragon Award for the Environment, as well as receiving a four-star rating from the Wales Tourist Board.
The Isle of Anglesey is a popular touring destination. Kingsbridge Caravan and Camping Park is a tranquil place, and lighting is kept at a minimum so you can star-gaze to your heart's content.
The site covers 14 acres and has 50 touring pitches, all with 10A electric hook-up, and both caravans and motorhomes are welcome. There are also 50 tent pitches, as well as two four-berth static caravans on site. All bedding is provided for the static caravans, but towels are not. Dogs aren't allowed in the static caravans, smoking also not permitted.
Elsewhere, dogs are allowed at this campsite, so long as they are kept on a short lead - owners must clean up after their dogs, too.
There is free hot water in the two clean and tidy washrooms complete with underfloor heating. The male and female wash blocks have shaver points and coin-operated hairdryers, and there is a mother and baby room in the female block. Dishwashing facilities and free freezers for ice blocks and food storage are available, too.
The owners pride themselves on the campsite's low impact on the environment. The buildings are fitted with low-energy lighting, the heating is solar-powered and guests are asked to use the campsite's recycling facilities.
There is a children's play area as well as a large area dedicated to ball games. There is also some storage space for boats.
A post office and general store are about 10 minutes from the campsite by foot, while the park also has good public transport links, great if you want to leave your car and caravan or motorhome on site and head off exploring. You might also want to go to the market - there is one every Thursday and Saturday in Llangefni, which is about a 30-minute drive from the campsite.
Camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in Wales have been popular for a long time, and you can use Kingsbridge as your base for your Welsh adventure. This campsite is on the south east coast of Anglesey, about a quarter of an hour by car from Menai Bridge. The nearest town is Beaumaris, less than a 10-minute drive away and on the coast, overlooking the Menai Strait.
There are so many things to do on Anglesey. The South Stack Cliffs RSPB Reserve sits on Holy Island, on the Isle of Anglesey's north west coast, and while you're there, you can visit South Stack Lighthouse. If you like gardens, you could while away the hours at Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens on your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays. Of course, there are many beaches to choose from on Anglesey, including Newborough Beach, Lligwy Beach and Rhosneigr Beach, and particularly close to this campsite is Beaumaris Gaol.
So if you're looking for some holiday accommodation on Anglesey, why not check out Kingsbridge Caravan and Camping Park.
Moss Wood Caravan Park
Cockerham, Lancashire

Jubilee Park Camping & Caravan Park
Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire
Open every year from early April to early November, Jubilee Park is one of the most beautiful holiday parks in Lincolnshire, and is found in the picturesque village of Woodhall Spa, five minutes from the charming village centre. The park has a total of 85 pitches, and welcomes guests with motorhomes, touring caravans, and tents, as well as trailer tents and folding caravans. An additional rally field is available at Jubilee Park, which has a capacity of approximately 40 rally pitches.
All of the pitches at Jubilee Park are grass pitches, with 73 fully maintained and serviced with electric hook-ups. All pitches are close to the on-site communal facilities, which include showers, a toilet block, water supplies, washing up and laundry facilities, and chemical waste disposal points.
There are plenty of activities on offer to guests that stay at Jubilee Park, including a heated outdoor swimming and paddling pool, a recently refurbished children's play park, and tennis, croquet, table tennis, bowling, and a putting green.
A range of events are held at Jubilee Park during its open season, including 'Picnic in the Park,' a 1940s Festival, and Midnight Swims in the swimming pool. The park also hosts car boot sales during the summer, so guests often find themselves heading home with much more than they arrived with at the start of their stay!
Woodhall Spa has plenty of local businesses, in addition to pubs and restaurants, for guests to stock up on their holiday essentials and refreshments during their stay. The village is famous for its historic estates and outdoor recreation opportunities. The Manor House and The Tower-on-the-Moor are both brilliant locations to visit.
Guests interested in exploring the outdoors can head into Jubilee Park itself, which is adjacent to the Camping & Caravan Park. The Pinewoods are beautiful woodlands, that you can explore at leisure, despite the fact that they are in the grounds of the village's Victoria Hotel. The vintage Kinema in the Woods is a popular attraction at the centre of The Pinewoods, and is the only cinema in the United Kingdom to use back projection.
The Viking Way footpath runs through Woodhall Spa, although at 147 miles long guests aren't going to manage to walk it all during their stay! However, the Spa Trail is a 3.3 mile section of the path that offers a peaceful walking route through beautiful woodland, with not a car in sight.
Cyclists can head out onto the Water Rail Way, a cycle trail that runs from Boston to Lincoln and passes through the village. Both towns are worth exploring on two wheels if the campsite guests fancy getting active and burning some energy on holiday.
Woodhall Spa is also famous for its two excellent golf courses, the Hotchkin, which has been named as one of the best inland golf courses in the UK, and the Bracken. The sandy heathland is so well drained that the golf courses offer soft springy turf all year round.
Elsewhere, guests will find the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a short drive from the park, while the beautiful east coast of England is just a short drive away. King's Lynn and the beauty of the north Norfolk coast are also within reach and offer wonderful sandy beaches, woodland, heathland, a chance to spot rare wild birds, and much more.
Jubilee Park Camping and Caravan Park is a luxurious location to choose as a retreat for your caravan holidays in Lincolnshire. It is a great base for exploring Woodhall Spa and the surrounding area.
